Hello
I came across this a few days ago and it's very relevant to what i'm going through right now.
Here's my story.
So at the start of the year, there were three girls.
Who promised to stand by each other in times of rough and smiles.
Who took lots of photos together.
Who dreamt of the future.
Who thanked each other for coming into their lives.
Who constantly motivates each other.
Who thanked them for being comrades who reminded them of god.
They kept a black book filled with matters of the heart.
Their troubles and joys were all inscribed in the humble companion.
Once upon a week, the book stopped being updated.
The book was kept at home.
And signs of friendship which were deteriorating showed, but they fought it together.
The black book came back.
So as the time goes, they managed to fulfill their promises.
Sitting together during lunch breaks, still smiling, laughing and taking photographs.
Two weeks down, two of them started spending a little more time with their classmates.
As time goes, second tier became first, and the three friends slowly drifted.
Matters of the hearts stopped being their conversation topic, because they found someone better to talk to.
All three stopped caring, all three stopped trying.
They stopped dreaming; together atleast.
Two of the pals found comfort in the arms of the closer ones.
The third was left hanging.
The third, found the need to try and bind the three together.
She didn't even know if the other two even cared.
The third, kept no secrets.
The third, kept no secrets.
She didn't even know what's going on in the other two's lives.
Hell, she didn't even know if the other two were secretly in contact behind her back.
But she didn't doubt.
She never did.
She could only pretend to see the changes coming.
Until slowly, reality comes smashing her in the head.
Amidst the busy mornings, she glanced left and right.
To her right, she sees one of the three, laughing with her new group of trio.
"Maybe she is happier with them", the third one thought.
To her left, she sees the second of the three, busy spending time with her classmate, no longer including her in their schedules.
"Maybe she is happier with them", the third one thought.
And then she slowly strolled to a quiet place.
Sat down at the edge of the school building with a book in her hands.
Her eyes were scanning the book vigorously, but her mind wasn't there.
Her mind was thinking of what the three would have been laughing about today.
Which person became their victim today.
Her mind was thinking about a few months ago when she first started to think about what would happen to their friendship since they were so often separated.
The times when she didn't doubt because the two didn't give her any reason to.
The times when she had something to look forward to.
The times when she had companions to fall back on.
As days goes by, she got reminded of the seniors' words.
"These friendships won't last", they said.
"You will all find better friends soon"
She stopped trying to resist.
Contemplating whether she should stop proving them wrong.
But she never did.
One day she met the second of the three.
The second of the three ranted, and ranted.
But she understood.
She knew what it was like to be left behind.
Because she was going through it.
But she never said that.
She tried to keep things normal.
But she knew it was the fakest act that she could possibly put up.
She tried to bring up the black book, but she knew it would make things awkward because insincerity was seeping through the love that binded the pages of the black book.
In the end, out of the three, one was still left hanging.
She found new companions, but she was still bugged by the fact that the three couldn't uphold the friendship.
One of the three, stopped trying since the beginning.
She found better friends who understands, who tolerates.
She found joy in confiding in them.
The second of the three, has finally stopped contacting.
She found a bigger, better group of friends.
She found a person to confide in.
She stopped trying to make time.
She stopped giving.
And the third regrets.
Regrets not listening to their every stupid rants.
And the third was left in the remains of what was a beautiful dome of friendship.
And they all knew.
But they never said a word.
Till this day.
I miss you, QC.
No matter how bad you guys annoy me, I miss you.
We might not be close now, but I'm still keeping my promise.
I'll be here whenever you need me.
Friends will wait for one another no matter how long it takes.
I hope you girls feel the same way.
